This blend of freshly cold-pressed rapeseed oil and mildly toasted hazelnut oil, seasoned with a fine bouquet of spices and herbs such as nutmeg, fennel and lemon myrtle, makes vegetables even better: simply drizzle over cooked vegetables before serving to taste. Our Vegetable Seasoning Oil harmonises with all tender and light vegetables such as white and green asparagus, potatoes, kohlrabi, cauliflower, carrots or black salsify. It also gives a special touch to dishes with savoy cabbage or broccoli.
Base: Rapeseed oil and hazelnut oil
Our rapeseed oil is a versatile cooking oil. Its nutty flavour makes it ideal for refining salads. Rapeseed oil is also known as canola oil or rapeseed oil.
Our organic hazelnut oil is made from mildly roasted nuts. It has a yellow colour and a mild, sweet and nutty flavour reminiscent of nougat.
A flavour combination for fine vegetable dishes
- Nutmeg comes from the nutmeg tree. The aroma is pleasant, woody to sweet. Nutmeg is also said to have a slightly bitter note. Classic combinations in the kitchen with this spice are mashed potatoes, spinach and light-coloured vegetables.
- Fennel belongs to the Umbelliferae family. It has a very unusual, spicy flavour. Fennel gets its typical aniseed flavour from the essential oil it contains.
- Lemon myrtle belongs to the myrtle family. The delicate leaves are rich in essential oils and have a lemon note. The delicate flavour harmonises well with vegetable dishes.
Usage
Vegetable Seasoning Oil is ideal as an aromatic ingredient in soups, mashed potatoes, risotto and cooked vegetables. Just a few drops will enhance the dish. Seasoning oil is particularly good with delicate and light-coloured vegetables. For example, it adds a surprising flavour to asparagus, cauliflower, broccoli, kohlrabi, carrots, potatoes, radishes and black salsify. Savoy cabbage, pointed cabbage and Brussels sprouts also benefit from the added flavour.
