Pesto - a long-standing tradition

The term pesto derives from Italian "pestare", meaning crush and describes an uncooked sauce from finely grated, ground or crushed ingredients like nuts, cheese, herbs, spices and oil. Predecessors of today's pesti are said to go back as far as ancient Rome.

Our extraordinary pesto is not only perfect as pasta sauce or spread. It also refines classic German dishes like mashed potatoes or potato salad.
