A savoury, piquant pesto with cherry tomatoes, parmesan cheese and cashew nuts, rounded off with a fine note of Italian herbs and spices as well as our Mediterranean and chili spice oil. Pesto is ideal for a quick and easy meal: Simply mix it with freshly cooked pasta and add some parmesan if you like.
Nonetheless, the Italian kitchen classic has nothing to do with fast food. The name “pesto” derives from the Italian word "pestare", meaning "mashed" and refers to an uncooked sauce made from finely grated, ground or crushed ingredients such as nuts, cheese, herbs, spices and oil. Precursors of today's pesti are said to go back as far as ancient Rome.
