ORGANIC Hemp cake

Our hemp cake is made from hemp seeds in raw food quality from controlled organic cultivation. The press cake, which is produced during the gentle processing of hemp seeds into hemp oil, is a high-quality animal feed, especially for horses. It has a grassy flavor. The press cake is suitable as a supplementary feed – either soaked in water or given dry as an addition to concentrated feed - or as a treat between meals.

The press cake contains around 9 g per 100 g of valuable hemp oil and is rich in fiber, protein and omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. Hemp oil provides the essential fatty acids linoleic acid, alpha-linolenic acid and gamma-linolenic acid.

Hemp cake as feed for horses

The gentle pressing of organic hemp seeds at temperatures below 40 °C preserves the valuable ingredients as effectively as possible. The crude protein content of hemp seed cake is around 21 g per 100 g.

The essential fatty acids, fiber and proteins in the hemp oil contained in the press cake can have a positive effect on horses and dogs with feed-related deficiency symptoms.

Hemp: origin and history

Hemp, with its distinctive leaves, is one of the oldest cultivated plants in the world. Originally from Central Asia, it was quickly cultivated in Europe after its discovery. The active ingredient tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) has made hemp famous as a narcotic but also as a medicinal plant. Today, numerous varieties with a low THC content are cultivated. In Europe in particular, there are numerous cultivars that are virtually free of THC.

Purely natural for humans and animals

In our oil mill, raw materials from controlled organic cultivation are processed into high-quality natural products. No additives are used.

Feeding recommendation

Organic hemp cake can be soaked and added to concentrated feed as mash or dry. It is also suitable for dogs.

• Horses/Ponies: 50–100 g per day

The pellets can be fed on their own or mixed into the feed and are also suitable as a horse treat.

• Dogs: 3–5 g per 10 kg body weight

Pellets should be soaked before feeding. Start with a smaller amount to check whether your dog can tolerate the pellets. Please discuss the dosage with your vet if necessary.

Store in a cool, dry and tightly sealed place.
