Our hemp seed flour is produced from fresh, unhulled hemp seeds through gentle cold pressing. It still contains around 10-12 g hemp seed oil per 100 g. Hemp seed flour adds a pleasant, nutty taste to any dish and at the same time, is a valuable source for protein and fibre. Moreover, it supplies around 3 times more fibre than wheat flour. If used in baking, you can substitue 10-20 % of wheat flour with hemp seed flour. Our hemp seed flour has raw food quality and is 100 % vegan.
Keep the product well sealed and in a cool place. If exposed to humidity, it clumps and might mould. Use up in short period of time.

History and origin
The hemp plant (Cannabis sativa) with its distinctive, five-fingered leaves is one of the world's oldest crops. Hemp originates from Central Asia but ever since its discovery, it has been cultivated in Europe as well. It is mainly known as intoxicant and for its active ingredient tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) but also as a medicinal plant. Today, many varieties with a low THC content have been established, which are proccessed to valuable foodstuffs. There are numerous breeds, especially from Europe, that are almost enitrely free from THC.
Valuable hemp seed oil in hemp seed flour
Our hemp seed flour still contains around 12 g hemp seed oil per 100 g. Hemp seed oil has the ideal proportion of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids of 3:1. A high content of polyunsaturated fatty acids makes our hemp seed flour a valuable ingredient for a healthy, wholesome diet.
Usage
Hemp seed flour is suitable for baking bread, fine pastries, for mueslis and desserts as well as for sauces and ice creams. Tip: For baking recipes, you can substitute 10 to 20 % of a given flour with hemp seed flour. Due to its high water absorption capacity, you might have to adjust the amount of liquids in the recipe.
