Our rosehip powder capsules offer an easy way to integrate the natural properties of this superfood into your everyday life. The basis is our organic rosehip powder, for which hand-picked, ripe rosehips from controlled organic cultivation are processed together with their skin. The organic fruits are dried at temperatures below 40 °C and then gently ground. Mechanical grinding without the addition of heat preserves the rosehip's valuable ingredients in their best possible form.
Rosehip powder is a purely plant-based, 100 % vegan and lactose-free product and is guaranteed to be produced without the addition of preservatives, colorants or additives. Compared to powders made from de-oiled seeds, the powder made from the whole seed with pulp and rosehip skin contains a particularly high vitamin C content of around 400 mg per 100 g. It is also rich in fiber.
Rosehips are the fruits of various types of roses, in particular rosa canina, known as the wild rose, which belongs to the rosaceae family. The shrub-like rosehip grows to a height of two to three meters. It is particularly striking due to its bright red to orange-colored fruits. The fleshy skin covers the actual fruit, the seeds.
The effect of rosehip powder
The effect of rosehip powder is highlighted in the NDR report "Osteoarthritis: symptoms, causes and help". The joint disease osteoarthritis affects millions of people in Germany and is sometimes accompanied by severe pain. In the video, the "Natur-Docs" show how a targeted diet can help with osteoarthritis. The recommendation: take around 5 g, approximately one teaspoon, of the powder every day. According to the experts, an important ingredient is galactolipid, a molecule consisting of sugar and fatty acids, which is found in rosehip seeds.
Rosehip powder for back pain and osteoarthritis
The rose hip is considered a resource in traditional medicine in Europe. Preparations from the mock fruit have been used since the Middle Ages to treat rheumatic complaints. Prof. Dr. med. Sigrun Chrubasik-Hausmann from the University of Freiburg emphasizes that the spectrum of action of the rose hip is "broader than that of synthetic anti-inflammatory drugs", as it inhibits both inflammatory mediators and cartilage-degrading messenger substances. Further information on this can be found in the update on the use of rosehip powder for osteoarthritis and back pain.
Rosehips: a source of vitamin C
Vitamin C is found in many foods, especially fruit and vegetables. Rosehips have a particularly high vitamin C content. Other sources include sweet peppers, blackcurrants, sea buckthorn and citrus fruits. Vitamin C is sensitive to heat: it is stable up to a temperature of around 190 °C without losing its valuable properties and characteristics.

The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has already approved the following health claims for vitamin C in the Health Claims Regulation:
- Vitamin C contributes to the normal function of the immune system during and after intense physical activity. The positive effect occurs when 200 mg of vitamin C is taken daily in addition to the recommended daily dose.
- Vitamin C contributes to normal collagen formation for normal cartilage function and normal function of blood vessels, bones, gums, skin and teeth.
- Vitamin C contributes to normal energy metabolism.
- Vitamin C contributes to the normal function of the nervous system.
- Vitamin C contributes to normal mental function.
- Vitamin C contributes to the normal function of the immune system.
- Vitamin C contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.
- Vitamin C contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
- Vitamin C contributes to the regeneration of the reduced form of vitamin E.
- Vitamin C increases the absorption of iron.
The health claims refer to a minimum amount of vitamin C in each case. A minimum amount of 12 milligrams is required for the listed effects of vitamin C.
Capsules suitable for vegans
Rosehip powder capsules are also suitable for vegans. The shell of our capsules is made from the plant fiber hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC), which contains neither gelatine nor glycerine. The rosehip capsules are suitable for easy dosing and are perfect for those who do not wish to take rosehip powder. The capsules contain the same valuable ingredients as the powder, but are particularly convenient for on the go.
Usage
Recommended dosage: Take 2 x 3 capsules daily unchewed with sufficient liquid, ideally with a meal. Do not exceed the recommended dose. A daily portion of 2 x 3 capsules contains 3,180 mg rose hip powder.
