This seasoning oil combines freshly cold-pressed rapeseed oil with coriander, fennel and dill. The result is a full-bodied taste experience. This seasoning oil goes perfectly with fish dishes, colorful salads, vegetable terrines, dips and sauces.

Our thyme and sage seasoning oil is cold-pressed from local organic rapeseed oil and the natural extract of freshly harvested thyme and sage. It offers an aromatic combination of spices and is a welcome addition to Mediterranean vegetable dishes, hearty stews and for marinating shepherd's cheese.

Thyme

Thyme is an herb that is mainly used in Mediterranean cuisine. The essential oils contained in thyme are responsible for its intense aroma and distinctive scent. The spice goes well with numerous dishes, from soups and salads to desserts. Thyme tastes very good with tomatoes, zucchinis, eggplants and potatoes. It is also ideal paired with honey and goat's cheese.

The genus thyme includes various plants from the labiate family. The characteristic scent of the plant is particularly striking. The best known is probably the common thyme (Thymus vulgaris). The plant is an eye-catcher in the garden thanks to its purple, white or pink flowers. Thyme, also known as garden thyme or quendel, was chosen as the medicinal plant of the year 2006 by the Würzburg study group "History of the Development of Medicinal Plants". According to this group, thyme has a long history as a medicinal herb and is one of the most valuable medicinal plants for colds today.

Thyme and sage

Sage

Sage is particularly spicy and aromatic. With its slightly bitter taste, sage goes perfectly with vegetables and stews. It is particularly popular for making sage butter and teas.

The sage genus (Salvia) includes several hundred species. The most widespread is the true sage (Salvia officinalis). This is also known as garden sage or kitchen sage. The essential oils are responsible for its aromatic power and intense fragrance. These are found in the felty leaves of the plant. Sage is not only used as a culinary herb, but also as a medicinal herb. It is a popular household remedy for respiratory diseases. Sage products are commercially available as sweets or tea.

The rapeseed is harvested in the Weserbergland.

Made with valuable rapeseed oil from Germany

Our thyme and sage seasoning oil is made with gently cold-pressed rapeseed oil from our region. It is based on organically grown rapeseed from the Weserbergland region. Our rapeseed oil is ideal for everyday use in the kitchen. It impresses with its balanced ratio of essential omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids.

Due to its fatty acid composition, virgin rapeseed oil is suitable for heating and can also be used for steaming or baking. For frying, cold-pressed rapeseed oil should not be heated above 170° C. In practice, it has proven to be a good idea to heat the pan just before adding the rapeseed oil and then fry the food in it for three to a maximum of five minutes.

Due to its nutty taste, rapeseed oil is also ideal for refining salads, which is why we use a large proportion of rapeseed oil in our three salad oil variants - spicy, pithy and fruity. It is also the basis for numerous seasoning oils. In addition to the thyme and sage seasoning oil, the Mediterranean seasoning oil and the herb of Provence seasoning oil are also suitable for Mediterranean cuisine.

Usage

For vegetable dishes and hearty stews with tomatoes, for marinating sheep's cheese and Greek shepherd's salad. Also ideal for drizzling on bread.

Herrlich aromatisch.
