250 g | chickpeas |
1 | egg |
1 | onion |
2 | cloves of garlic |
1 TL | baking powder |
1 TL | salt |
1 TL | caraway |
1 TL | coriander |
1 TL | Garam Masala spice oil |
2 EL | parsley |
1 EL | lemon juice |
1 Prise | black pepper |
4 EL | cooking and frying oil |
Zubereitung
Wash the chickpeas and soak in water overnight (around 12 hours). Drain and boil the chickpeas in fresh water for 10 minutes. Simmer at low temperature for further 45 minutes. Drain the water. Mix the chickpeas, egg, chopped onion and garlic, baking powder, salt and pepper, caraway, coriander, lemon juice and Garam Masala spice oil in a bowl and mash to a dough. Form small balls with moist hands and fry in cooking and frying oil for around 5 minutes or until the falafel have a golden-brown colour.
Hinweise
Serve with yogurt and pita bread on the side.
Time saving hack: Use canned chickpeas or an organic ready mix.
