Gentle cleansing with cold-stirred coconut oil soap
Organic Coconut Lavender Soap is a pure vegetable soap made from virgin coconut oil and cold-stirred using traditional methods. With an aromatic scent of blooming lavender made from natural essential oils, it nourishes the skin and leaves it pleasantly scented. Our Coconut Soap is suitable for showering and hand washing.
True lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) is often found as an ornamental plant in local gardens. In France, there are whole fields of the colourful lavender that is the symbol of Provence. Not only is lavender an eye-catching plant, it also has a distinctive, spicy fragrance.
The plant belongs to the Lamiaceae family. The name comes from the Latin word lavare, which means to wash. The Romans, for example, used lavender for bathing. The oil or extract is still used in cosmetics today. Lavender is a medicinal plant. The essential oils from the flowers and leaves are said to be soothing and harmonising.
Skin-friendly and moisturising
Lavender Coconut Soap is well tolerated by the skin and its mild fragrance makes it ideal as a hand soap. Because all the natural lipids, including the valuable glycerin, are retained in the soap, the cold-stirred coconut soap has special properties for gently cleansing and caring for the skin, as glycerin has the ability to regulate skin moisture and protect it from drying out.
The coconut soap also contains a skin-friendly surplus of unsaponified coconut oil and has a pleasantly moisturising effect on the skin from application to application. The soft, very smooth and full-bodied lather unfolds its fragrant cleansing power efficiently on the skin. It contains no synthetic fragrances, colours or preservatives.
Coconut oil is a highly valued raw ingredient
The slightly alkaline pH of Coconut Soap is 9 to 10. Our coconut soap and the virgin coconut oil itself are known to have a mild antibacterial effect. The coconut oil used in the soap is over 60% medium chain fatty acids and contains 50g of lauric acid per 100g.
It is not without reason that we use the highly prized coconut oil to make our soap. The coconut palm, affectionately known as the tree of life, is versatile, as almost every part of the plant is used in a variety of ways. In the tropics, it is considered the most important cash crop and is of great economic importance. It is also an essential source of food. The harvested coconut is classified as a highly nutritious functional food. It is rich in fibre, vitamins, minerals and phenolic compounds. Coconut oil is ideal for handmade cold-stirred soaps.
We do not use any synthetic fragrances, colourings or preservatives in the production of our soaps. All Solling natural cosmetics skin care oils, balms and soaps carry the internationally recognised NATRUE seal. Our coconut soap is vegan and not tested on animals. The coconut oil used is certified organic.
