Precious coconut oil soap for gentle cleansing

Made from virgin coconut oil, Sandalwood Coconut Organic Soap is a purely vegetable soap, cold-stirred using traditional methods. Natural essential oils give the coconut soap a woody, sweet sandalwood scent. It nourishes the skin and leaves it pleasantly scented. This soap is perfect for washing your hands and showering.

Sandalwood is the name given to a variety of woods that come from the trees of the "Santulum" genus. The true sandalwood tree (Santalum album) is native to India. The essential oil extracted from the wood is used in natural cosmetics, massage and aromatherapy. Sandalwood also plays an important role in medicine.

The scent of sandalwood is earthy, woody and sweet. The scent is said to be stimulating and calming. It should not be confused with patchouli. The latter is a plant from the labiate family.

Skin friendly and moisturising

Sandalwood Coconut Soap is well tolerated by the skin and is also ideal as a hand soap. The cold-stirred coconut soap retains all of its natural lipids, including valuable glycerin, giving it special properties for gentle cleansing and mild skin care. Glycerin has the ability to regulate the skin's moisture and protect it from drying out, while the skin-friendly addition of unsaponifi ed coconut oil gives the soap a pleasantly moisturising effect every time it is used. The soft, velvety, full-bodied lather unfolds its fragrant cleansing power effectively on the skin.

It contains no synthetic fragrances, colours or preservatives and is slightly alkaline with a pH of 9 to 10. Our Coconut Soap and the virgin coconut oil itself are known to have a mild antibacterial effect. The coconut oil used in the soap is over 60% medium chain fatty acids and contains 50g of lauric acid per 100g.

Coconut oil is a valuable resource

It is not without reason that we use the precious oil of the coconut to make our soap. As almost all parts of the coconut palm are used in different ways, it is a versatile resource, also known as the tree of life. In the tropics, the coconut palm is of enormous economic importance as the most important cash crop and a fundamental source of nutrition. The harvested coconut is classified as a highly nutritious functional food because it is rich in fibre, vitamins, minerals and phenolic compounds.

Coconut oil is also ideal for the production of our cold-stirred soaps, which do not contain any synthetic fragrances, colourings or preservatives. All Solling Naturkosmetik skin care oils, balms and soaps carry the internationally recognised NATRUE organic label. Our Sandalwood Coconut Soap is vegan and not tested on animals. The coconut oil used is certified organic.
