Evening Primrose Skin Care Oil

Our Organic Evening Primrose Oil is a treatment for very dry skin. It is one of the few vegetable oils to contain a combination of essential linoleic acid and gamma linolenic acid (approximately 10g per 100g). It protects and conditions sensitive areas of the skin and regulates the skin's moisture balance. It is also used for flaky and irritated skin.

Regenerating facial treatment with evening primrose oil

Evening primrose oil is rich in linoleic and gamma linolenic acid. It is free of fragrances and essential oils and helps dry and flaky skin retain moisture for longer. Evening primrose oil is considered to be well tolerated and protective for sensitive facial skin.

Evening primrose as the basis of our oil

The evening primrose blooms from June to October, growing up to one metre tall with an angular stem. The yellow flowers form a racemose inflorescence. Each flower blooms for just one day and is then replaced by a new one. This shows how quickly the Evening Primrose develops and how vigorous the plant is. The fruits of the evening primrose are elongated. The roundish seeds of the plant are inside the three centimetre long fruit. Our precious skincare oil is gently extracted from the seeds of organically grown evening primrose.

Mix & Match

Daily skin care can of course be tailored to your own needs. Our Evening Primrose Oil can be combined with other skin care oils and balms, or used to enrich creams and lotions. Just give it a try: Just a few drops in your day cream will give your skin more elasticity and moisture.

Our recipe for a regenerating Face Mask

• 2 tsp evening primrose oil
• 1 teaspoon of honey
• ¼ ripe avocado

Mash the avocado with a fork, mix with the remaining ingredients and apply to cleansed face. Leave on for at least 15 minutes and rinse off with lukewarm water.

Face scrubs

Exfoliation helps regenerate the skin and unclog pores. With our Evening Primrose Oil, you can easily make your own face and décolleté scrubs: Mix sea salt, coconut blossom sugar, almond bran or coffee grounds (depending on the grain size) with the oil, sweep over the skin in circular motions and rinse off with lukewarm water. This will gently exfoliate while revitalising and nourishing the skin.
