Our gently cold-pressed organic black seed oil is an ideal supplement for dogs and horses. It can have a positive effect on metabolic processes and the appearance of skin and coat in cases of dietary deficiency. Black cumin (Nigella sativa) is a member of the buttercup family and is not related to caraway. The seeds are small, angular and, as the name suggests, black. Our Black Cumin Seed Oil is cold pressed from Egyptian Organic Black Cumin Seeds at temperatures below 40 degrees.
Organic Black Cumin Seed Oil as a healthy feed supplement
Black cumin seed oil is highly valued as a high quality edible oil for human consumption. It is used in the preparation of salads, dips and oriental dishes, as well as for skin care. The cold-pressed oil is also a high quality feed supplement for your dog or horse. In veterinary medicine it is used mainly for asthma and respiratory diseases. Black seed oil provides indirect protection against ticks and insects. Cold pressing at temperatures below 40°C preserves the valuable ingredients in their best form. Virgin Black Seed Oil is free from additives and contains valuable unsaturated fatty acids, particularly the essential double unsaturated linoleic acid.
For dogs and horses with dietary deficiencies, the oil can have a positive effect on

Black seed oil for dogs
Dogs are one of the most popular pets in Germany, along with cats. A balanced diet is also important for our furry friends. Oils such as hemp oil, evening primrose oil, black cumin oil and linseed oil can be fed to dogs as a healthy supplement.
Black seed oil is recommended at every stage of a dog's life. Even as a puppy, about 1ml of black seed oil per kg of body weight can be added daily to the dog's food. Even during the development of a young dog, black seed oil can have a positive effect on the immune system and protect against ticks. Adult dogs under 5kg are given around 5ml per day. Larger dogs, over 5kg, can be given 10ml of black seed oil.
Black seed oil for barfing
Barfing is a type of feeding for carnivorous animals. The term "BARF" stands for "bone and raw food". It refers to the raw feeding of animals such as dogs and cats. The main ingredients in a BARF diet are meat, bones and offal. Small amounts of fruit and vegetables are also fed. As with eating in the wild, all ingredients are fed raw.
However, black seed oil can be fed as a healthy supplement to small and large dogs, not only when they are vomiting, but also when feeding appropriate dry and wet foods.
Black seed oil for horses

Horses with sensitive skin can benefit from feeding black seed oil. It can help support a weakened immune system, relieve respiratory problems such as asthma and coughs, and soothe allergic reactions and eczema. Feeding valuable black seed oil has a particularly beneficial effect during the moulting season in spring or autumn. Flies, horse flies and ticks do not like the essential oils in black cumin oil. Feeding can therefore indirectly act as an insect repellent and contribute to the well-being of the horse.
The essential fatty acids in black cumin oil can have a positive effect on metabolic processes and coat changes in horses with nutritional deficiencies. At the same time, regular feeding can help maintain a shiny coat. In winter, the oil can help the horse to use less of its own fat reserves and thus maintain its body temperature better. Black seed oil can strengthen the horse's immune system. In addition, the high mucilage content stimulates intestinal activity and can help prevent colic.
You can also try our black cumin seed press cake, which is produced when black cumin seeds are processed into black cumin oil. The pellets, which are also available in linseed oil, milk thistle and evening primrose varieties, are a high quality feed for horses.
Feeding recommendation

- 5 ml for dogs under 5 kg
- 10 ml for dogs over 5 kg
- 50 - 75 ml for ponies or horses, depending on size
Black seed oil is best absorbed when administered over the feed or mixed into the feed. Acceptance may vary from animal to animal as black seed oil has a naturally bitter taste. You can easily use a teaspoon as a measure for dosing. A full teaspoon is approximately 5ml of black seed oil. Caution: Black cumin seed oil and cake are toxic to cats because, unlike horses and dogs, they cannot fully metabolize bitter compounds.
Our Black Cumin Oil is an untreated natural product. A natural sediment, cloudiness and colour changes are natural.
