Ölmühle Solling’s Organic Coconut Puree is a sweet, melt-in-the-mouth spread with the full flavour of coconut. This exotic spread is made from the flesh of ripe, dried organic coconuts, which are gently ground and lightly defatted. The coconut puree derives its sweet flavour from the flesh of the nut. It is free from sugar and other sweeteners and is produced without the use of additives. Organic Coconut Butter is 100% vegan, lactose-free and gluten-free.

The Difference Between Coconut Oil and Coconut Butter

Often confused and yet different, coconut butter should not be confused with coconut oil. We also refer to our coconut butter as "the whole coconut in a jar" as it contains all the other components of the coconut as well as the fat. Coconut paste is the ground pulp of the fruit, while coconut oil is pressed from the pulp. The different ways in which coconut oil and coconut paste are obtained also affect other properties: While coconut oil tastes slightly nutty and has an oily consistency, coconut puree is much sweeter and creamier. Coconut oil is heat resistant and non-sensitive, making it ideal for frying. Coconut butter is not suitable for frying.

Using organic coconut butter in the kitchen

For use as a spread, we recommend storing coconut oil outside the fridge at room temperature. Coconut butter becomes liquid at a temperature of 24 degrees Celsius and above. As we do not use stabilisers in the production process, some of the coconut fat may float to the surface when the puree becomes liquid. If the puree is to be used as a liquid, it can be quickly heated in a water bath.

As well as being used as a spread, our Organic Coconut Puree can be used to enhance Asian dishes such as stir-fries, fish, meat and poultry dishes cooked in a wok. The sweet cream is also ideal for desserts, sweet dishes and fine baked goods. It can also be used to enhance smoothies and cocktails. Just one teaspoon of coconut butter is enough to give a typical sweet flavour to dishes. Coconut butter is not suitable for frying.

Usage

Coconut puree can be used to enhance Asian dishes such as stir-fries, fish, meat and poultry dishes from the wok, as well as dips and desserts, as a dessert (spread) and in fine baked goods. It is also ideal in cocktails (e.g. Piña Colada). Just a teaspoon of coconut butter is enough to give a typical sweet flavour to dishes. Use it to refine, season or simply as a spread. Coconut butter is not suitable for frying.

Bisher unser liebstes Kokosmus, doch diese Charge hat deutlich nach vergammelten Kokosnüssen geschmeckt. Leider wurde unsere Reklamation nicht akzeptiert, es hieß, bei der Qualitätsprüfung sei nichts negativ aufgefallen und das Kokosmus sei schließlich ein Naturprodukt. Das ist richtig, aber natürliche Produkte verrotten... mehr >>
mit der Zeit, und wenn die Kokosnüsse für das Mus nicht einwandfrei sind, kann man das schmecken - wir haben es jedenfalls geschmeckt. Leider hatten wir 4 Gläser gekauft (wegen der vielen guten Erfahrungen), die wir entsorgen mussten. Ab sofort kaufen wir unser Kokosmus woanders.

Das Mus schmeckt uns überhaupt nicht. Es hat einen bittereren Beigeschmack und lässt sich nur schwer streichen. Aber alles ist eben eine Geschmackssache.

Als Brotaufstrich für meinen Geschmack absolut unbrauchbar. Mal ausprobieren, obman es zum kochen nehmen kann.

Das Mus ist geschmacklich prima. Die Konsistenz ist grauenhaft und ich kann sie nicht als Brotaufstrich nutzen. Zu hart, kaum aus dem Glas zu bekommen. Sehr sehr schade!!!

Ideal streichfähig ist der Aufstrich bei Raumtemperatur zwischen 20° - 22° C.

Im Kühlschrank wird es steinhart und ist dann auch nicht mehr streichfähig, bzw. nicht mehr bequem mit einem Löffel zu entnehmen (bröselig).

Ist leider bei Zimmertemperatur ( 20°C ) nicht streichbar und deshalb als Brotaufstrich nicht geeignet.

Pure coconut puree is pureed coconut. The fibre content is reduced and the coconut puree is completely water free. The coconut flavour is mild and authentic.

Pure coconut is spreadable only when stored at room temperature between 20° - 22° C. In the refrigerator it becomes rock hard and is not spreadable or easy to remove with a spoon (crumbly).

When storing and removing coconut butter, make sure that no water (e.g. condensation, damp spoons or knives) gets into the coconut butter as this will cause it to go mouldy.

It is used in sweets, desserts, spreads, smoothies and baking.
