Organic virgin argan oil, the liquid gold from Morcco, is made from the tasty nuts of a local tree from Morocco. The organically grown nuts are traditionally cracked by Berber women. The yellow-golden oil is very rich in antioxidative vitamin E and unsaturated fatty acids. It is suitable for both hot and cold dishes.
Our organic argan oil is 100 % pure and natural. Organically grown argan nuts are gently pressed, which preserves the fine taste and the valuable ingredients particularly well.
Argan from Marokko
Nowadays, the characterisitc argan tree can only be found on 820 000 hectares in southwest Morocco. In 1998, it was declared a biosphere reserve. The argan nut produces a golden, aromatic nutty-hearty oil that is appreciated as edible oil and in skin care alike. It truly deserves its nickname, "liquid gold" from Morocco. According to Moroccan tradition, the argan nuts are picked and processed by women.
For Ölmühle Solling, preserving the traditional cultivation and oil craftmanship is a matter of the heart. Therefore, we purchase our organic virgin argan oil from a small manufactory near Agadir which supports women's cooperatives in Essaouira and Ait Baamrame/Sidi Ifni. This creates urgently needed jobs on site.
We recommend argan oil for refining pasta sauces, dips, salads, fish or meat dishes. Only a few drops of argan oil add the characteristic, nutty aroma to any dish. Simply drizzle a teaspoon of argan oil on the dish before serving.
