ORGANIC Cherry kernel oil

Our organic cherry stone oil is gently cold-pressed from the aromatic stones of the sour cherry. The kernels are first dried. The seeds are then carefully separated from the husk and processed into the precious oil in spindle presses. This gentle production process preserves the valuable ingredients.

Cold-pressed oil from the kernels of the sour cherry

We use the kernels of the sour cherry to produce cherry kernel oil. The cherry belongs to the rose family (Rosaceae). The tree produces sour and sweet cherries. We mainly eat sweet cherries fresh, partly because of their sweet aroma. Sour cherries, on the other hand, contain more fruit acid and are therefore largely processed, for example into preserves or juice. They are ideal for baking, for example. The fruits of the sour cherry ripen later and are therefore harvested later than those of the sweet cherry. Sour cherries are also smaller and more juicy.

The vegan, lactose-free and gluten-free organic cooking oil from Ölmühle Solling is rich in unsaturated fatty acids. The composition of cherry kernel oil is similar to our specialty oils plum kernel oil, apricot kernel oil and almond oil. The color of cherry kernel oil is light to medium yellow. The fragrance is reminiscent of amaretto.

For refining desserts and pastries

With its taste reminiscent of bitter almond, our mill-fresh cold-pressed cherry stone oil is an excellent accompaniment to desserts and pastries. The fine amaretto aroma gives desserts a unique note. Berries, pastries and jams harmonize perfectly with the taste of this oil speciality, but it is also ideal for refining salad dressings.
