Olives on the bush

Mediterraneo Extra Virgin Olive Oil is made exclusively from the finest olives grown in the extreme south of Italy, in Calabria. Thanks to decades of experience in organic farming and intensive collaboration with many Calabrian farmers, all of whom work according to organic farming guidelines, the entire production process of this olive oil is controlled with the utmost care and attention to ensure that it meets the highest quality standards.

Mediterraneo Extra Virgin Olive Oil has a typically Italian flavour - mild and fruity - and is ideal for all types of dishes, especially salads and Mediterranean cuisine.

Working with organic farmers in Italy

At our oil mill in the Weserbergland region of Germany, we are unable to press the olive oil ourselves, so we buy it from selected organic suppliers. One of the reasons for this is the short window of time between harvesting in the countries of origin and processing the olives. Another is that special machinery is used to produce olive oil. Strictly speaking, olive oils are not "pressed" but "centrifuged" in large centrifuges.

In order to guarantee the best quality at all times, the freshly harvested olives are processed into olive oil on site. When it comes to 'organic', our olive oil suppliers meet the criteria for organic cultivation to our complete satisfaction. In addition to on-site visits during the olive harvest, careful analysis by independent laboratories testing for contaminants such as mineral oils, plasticisers and polyaromatic hydrocarbons are part of the inspection and quality assurance process.

Das Öl riecht stärker beim Erhitzen und vor allem gefällt mir der Verschluss nicht, er lässt sich nicht gut drehen.

Aufgrund der Marktla CVerknappung der Olivenernte) ist dieses Öl preislich und qualitativ für mich noch akzeptabel

Das Öl überzeugt mich nicht so ganz. Es ist durchaus lecker, aber für mich zu wenig ausdrucksstark.
