Our pumpkin seed coconut spread is a purely plant-based spread made from cold-pressed pumpkin seed oil, pumpkin seeds and virgin coconut oil. The roasted pumpkin seeds come from organic cultivation in Styria, Austria. Both oils are cold-pressed and processed to this delicious pumpkin seed coconut spread. Well chilled, it is spreadable like butter or margarine. The polyunsaturated fatty acids of the pumpkin seed oil complete the range of saturated fatty acids in the virgin coconut oil. Healthy and tasty at the same time.
With precious organic coconut oil
Our virgin coconut oil does not only have an exquisite taste, it is also appreciated for its valuable ingredients: Even though coconut oil consists of many saturated fatty acids, it is the kind of fatty acids that matters. It mainly contains medium chain triglycerides (MCT) such as lauric acid. Lauric acid makes up almost half of the fatty acids of coconut oil and is, among others, an important component of breast milk. Combined with diverse cooking, organic coconut oil can contribute to a balanced, wholesome diet.
For our pumpkin seed coconut spread, the usually liquid pumpkin seed oil is embedded in spreadable vegetable fat, namely virgin coconut fat. That way, all health beneficial properties of the pumpkin seed oil are maintained. If stored in the fridge, the pumpkin seed coconut spread is durable for up to 12 months.
The durability of the spread can be affected slightly if it is exposed to warm temperatures and sunlight for a longer period of time. In that case, the spread will also turn liquid. If you put the jar in a cool place like the fridge, it will become solid and spreadable again. The recommended storage temperature for the spread is 8 °C (fridge). At this temperature, it is spreadable like butter or margarine. At lower temperatures, the pumpkin coconut spread will be very solid and crumbly and will not spread as easily.
Due to the blend of coconut oil and pumpkin seed oil, our vegan pumpkin seed coconut spread is perfectly spreadable if stored in the fridge. It is tasty on bread or baguette on its own or can be used as substitute for butter combined with cheese or other cold cuts.
