Our Cocolino vegetable spread contains around 15 g omega-3 fatty acids (mainly alpha-linolenic acid) per 100 g. In combination with our organic virgin coconut oil, the fresh, cold-pressed organic flaxseed oil is durable for a long time, if stored in the fridge. The firm coconut oil protects the flaxseed oil from oxidation so it does not go bitter as quickly as pure flaxseed oil. Sea buckthorn oil further enhances the taste and nutritious value of this spread.
Contributes to a normal cholesterol level
Cocolino has an aromatic nutty taste and a mild coconut note which is refined with the fruity flavour of sea buckthorn. The spread is rich in alpha-linolenic acid, an essential omega-3 fatty acid, which contributes to a normal level of cholesterol in the blood. Only 15 g of the spread cover the daily requirement of omega-3 fatty acids of an adult, which corresponds to 2 g of alpha-linolenic acid.
Our Cocolino spread consists of 66 g virgin coconut oil, 33 g cold-pressed flaxseed oil and 1 g virgin sea buckthorn oil per 100 g. Enjoy our product as part of a diverse and balanced diet.

With precious organic coconut oil
Our virgin coconut oil does not only have an exquisite taste, it is also appreciated for its valuable ingredients: Even though coconut oil consists of many saturated fatty acids, it is the kind of fatty acids that matters. It mainly contains medium chain triglycerides (MCT) such as lauric acid. Lauric acid makes up almost half of the fatty acids of coconut oil and is, among others, an important component of breast milk. Combined with diverse cooking, organic coconut oil can contribute to a balanced, wholesome diet.
Storage
Due to its high content of omega-3 fatty acids, cold-pressed flaxseed oil is one of the most nutritious oils. However, this makes it also very sensitive to oxidation. Usually, it is only durable for a short period of time and develops a bitter taste after a few weeks already. We embedded flaxseed oil in our Cocolino spread which is based on spreadable vegetable fat (virgin coconut fat). This protects the precious oil from oxidation and makes it durable for a longer time - without turning bitter or losing its beneficial ingredients. Cocolino can be stored in the fridge for up to 9 months.
The recommended storage temperature for Cocolino is 8 °C (fridge). At this temperature, it is ideally spreadable like butter or margarine. If stored below 8 °C, cocolino has a firmer texture and does not spread as easily.
Usage
Thanks to the blend of coconut oil, seabuckthorn oil and flaxseed oil, Cocolino is easy to spread even when it is stored in the fridge. It can be used as spread for bread and baguette or, as butter substitute, can be combined with jam, cheese or cold cuts.
