Our organic tomato vinegar is appreciated for its balanced acidity and its aromatic taste of tomatoes. For this vinegar rarity, tomato juice is slowly boiled down and naturally fermented to vinegar. It goes well with canola, olive or sunflower seed oil and refines salads, marinades and sauces.

Traditional production with the “mother of vinegar”

If you notice an opaque, jelly-like layer in an opened bottle of vinegar, it does not mean that it has gone bad. On the contrary, it is a feature of an unpasteurised, traditionally produced vinegar which is called "mother of vinegar". It consists of valuable acetic acid bacteria that convert alcohol to acetic acid, using oxygen. When a bottle of vinegar is opened, these bacteria might become active again and produce the abovementioned biofilm.

Vinegar for cooking

With our fine vinegars and freshly milled oils, you can prepare a large variety of vinaigrettes. The basic recipe is very easy: 1 part vinegar for 3 parts oil, season to taste with salt and pepper. Our vinegars are also perfect for seasoning soups and sauces or for a hint of acidity in any dish. Tip: For a refreshing drink, add a squirt of our apple, morello cherry or black currant vinegar to mineral water.

Ganz besonderer Geschmack , kannte ich noch gar nicht so , habe Tomate/ Mozzarella Salat gemacht , nehme sonst immer einen guten Balsamico, jetzt habe ich mal den Tomatenessig genommen und war begeistert, da schmecken selbst die Winteromaten richtig fruchtig , obwohl der Tomatensalat wohlweislich in die warme Jahreszeit gehört ,... mehr >>
ein guter Balsamico hat natürlich auch weiterhin seine Berechtigung ?

Sehr fruchtiger, leckerer Essig , wir mögen ihn auch sehr gerne anstatt Balsamico am Tomatensalat , passt auch an jeden anderen Blattsalat oder zum Beispiel Linsensalat , absolute Kaufempfehlung .

Ich liebe diesen Essig heiß und innig. Interessanterweise, nutze ich ihn gern im Nudelsalat in dem keine Tomaten rein kommen, aber die Säure gibt den Nudeln einfach einen Tollen Geschmack.

Ich habe den Essig schon öfter bestellt , sehr empfehlenswert, feiner Geschmack , milde Säure, mal was anderes , passt zu sehr vielen Salaten , auch gemischt mit anderen Essigen ....

Der beste Essig, den wir je hatten! Er schmeckt richtig vollmundig nach Tomate und hat eine gute Säure! Habe noch nie woanders so einen Essig zum Kauf gesehen.
