This appealing green oil is carefully obtained from the pulp of organically grown, ripe avocados. Our high-quality avocado oil is produced from the fatty pulp of avocados. It is milled with sterile, cold water and then gently centrifuged to collect the oil. The temperatures in the production process always remain below 40 °C, resulting in a precious oil of raw food quality. This preserves the valuable ingredients and the characteristic taste.
Suitable for short frying
Thanks to its combination of fatty acids, avocado oil can be heated and is therefore also suitable for short frying fish, meat and vegetables. Its valuable fat-accompanying substances like vitamins A, E and D make it an ideal skin care as well.
Avocado oil mainly consists of unsaturated fatty acids, such as 45 - 62 g oleic acid (18:1), 12 – 13.5 g linoleic acid (18:2) and 0.7 – 3.3 g alpha-linolenic acid per 100 g. It also contains saturated fatty acids, for instance 16 - 20 g palmitic acid (16:0) as well as 5.6 - 10 g palmitoelic acid (16:1) per 100 g.
The avocado fruit
Botanically, the avocado is a berry with a single large seed. Next to its pulp, every avocado has a seed that makes up 13 - 18 % of the entire fruit. Avocados are 5 - 9 cm wide and 7 - 20 cm long. The skin is usually green, but depending on ripeness and storage, it might become dark green to deep red. The pulp is not only suitable for oil production, it can also be eaten raw on its own.
