Our cinnamon almond spice oil is a fine composition of sweet cinnamon and freshly milled almond oil. It refines smoothies and Golden Milk, rice pudding or muesli and adds an aromatic cinnamon note to desserts, ice cream and whipped cream.
Origin and history of cinnamon
Cinnamon is known as one of the oldest spices and has been used for thousands of years in China and India. From the 16th to 18th century, cinnamon was traded at a high price in Europe and therefore became a symbol of wealth during that time. Today, the sweet spice is an essential autumn and winter spice and matches perfectly with vanilla or cloves.
Spice oil on the basis of precious almond oil
The almond tree, also known as Prunus dulcis Rosaceae, can be found in regions with warm or moderate termperatures like Spain or Sicily. This is where we purchase our almonds as well. Almonds have an elongated, egg-like shape and a thick, leathery, grey-green coat. There are two types of almonds, sweet and bitter. Only sweet almonds can be used for the production of edible oils. Almonds contain around 60 % almond oil. At Ölmühle Solling, we only use organic, fully ripe almonds which are cold-pressed. Pure almond oil has a light yellow colour as well as a mild taste and scent of almonds which makes it the perfect basis for our cinnamon spice oil. The oil is rich in valuable ingredients like unsaturated fatty acids and oleic acid.
Our cinnamon almond spice oil can be used for drinks and smoothies, seasoning, baking and desserts. A classic for rice pudding and semolina pudding. Keep in a cool, dark place and use quickly after opening.
Recommended dosage: Our cinnamon almond spice oil is a condiment and should not exceed a dosage of 1 %.
