Omega 3 capsules with DHA & EPA from algae oil

Our Omega 3 capsules contain valuable algae oil, which we also use for our Omega 3 oils. The special feature is the high content of essential omega-3 fatty acids, in particular DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid). The daily dose of two capsules provides 300 mg DHA and 150 mg EPA.

Vegan capsule shell with tapioca starch - without carrageenan

The vegan gel capsules with tapioca starch are ideal as a dietary supplement for daily intake. Tapioca starch is obtained from the root tuber of the tapioca plant and is purely plant-based. Our Omega 3 capsules are therefore particularly popular with people who want to avoid animal products for health, ethical, ecological or religious reasons. We have deliberately decided against the use of carrageenan.

Capsules or oil?

Depending on your individual lifestyle, needs, dietary habits and state of health, a different dosage form may be suitable for you. All our omega 3 products are natural, vegan omega 3 suppliers: Omega 3 capsules and the high-dose Omega 3 oil with lemon contain DHA and EPA. In addition to DHA and EPA, the omega 3 oil with walnut and the omega 3 oil with sea buckthorn also contain the omega 3 fatty acid ALA (alpha-linolenic acid).

The Omega 3 capsules are suitable for easy dosing and are perfect for those who do not want to take liquid oil. The carrageenan-free soft gel capsule protects the sensitive oil from oxidation, making the capsules ideal travel companions. We recommend that you also consume linseed, chia seeds, hemp seeds, walnuts, linseed oil, walnut oil or hemp oil so that you are supplied with all three essential omega-3 fatty acids ALA, DHA and EPA.

The Omega 3 capsules should ideally be taken together with a fatty meal. This stimulates fat digestion and is the prerequisite for the fatty acids DHA and EPA to be optimally metabolized by the body.

DHA and EPA - beneficial for the heart, eyes and brain

DHA and EPA are among the polyunsaturated, essential fatty acids that the body cannot produce sufficiently itself. They must therefore be obtained additionally through food or omega 3 capsules or omega 3 oils.

DHA and EPA are important for the increased need for omega-3 fatty acids during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Pregnant and breastfeeding women cover their increased requirement of 250 mg DHA and EPA + 200 mg DHA per day by taking two omega 3 capsules per day.

The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has already approved the following health claims for DHA and EPA in the Health Claims Regulation:

• DHA contributes to the maintenance of normal vision and brain function. The positive effect is achieved with a daily intake of 250 mg DHA*.
  
  
• EPA and DHA contribute to normal heart function. The positive effect is achieved with a daily intake of 250 mg EPA and DHA*.
  
  
• The intake of DHA by the mother contributes to normal eye development in the fetus and breastfed infant. The positive effect occurs when 200 mg DHA is taken daily in addition to the recommended daily dose of omega-3 fatty acids for adults (250 mg DHA and EPA)*.
  
  
• The mother's intake of DHA contributes to normal brain development in the fetus and breastfed infant. The positive effect occurs when 200 mg DHA is taken daily in addition to the recommended daily dose of omega-3 fatty acids for adults (250 mg DHA and EPA)*.

Algae oil: production through a fermentation process

In contrast to our cold-pressed edible oils, algae oil is produced through a fermentation process. The algae of the algae species Schizochytrium are cultivated in a fermenter, similar to beer or yeast production. They are supplied with sugar and other nutrients required for their growth and the production of omega-3 fatty acids. Once the algae have produced sufficient omega-3 fatty acids, the fermentation juice, which contains DHA and EPA, is filtered. The algae cells are then mechanically broken down to release the algae oil. The end product is a pure vegetable algae oil with a high content of DHA and EPA.

Recommended intake: Take two capsules daily with sufficient liquid. Do not exceed the recommended daily intake. Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a balanced and varied diet. Keep out of the reach of small children.
