Ölmühle Sollings frying oil is made from hulled high-oleic sunflower seeds from certified organic cultivation. It is gently cold-pressed and then gently deodorised by steam filtration. The deodorisation process ensures a particularly mild flavour. The frying oil has a high oleic acid content of about 80 g per 100 g. This and the deodorisation make the oil very heat stable.
It is suitable for steaming, frying, baking and deep-frying. Our frying oil is vegan, lactose-free and gluten-free. It should be stored at room temperature in a tightly closed container. The pourer on our bottles makes it easy to measure out.
Using oil for frying
Our cold-pressed oils are at their best when exposed to as little heat as possible. However, there are oils in our range that are suitable for frying at high temperatures - for example, our deodorised frying oil.
Deodorisation is a process in which steam is used to filter out substances from the oil that can degenerate when heated. While some oils are ideal for hot cooking, others should only be consumed cold. Excessive heating by frying or deep-frying can destroy sensitive unsaturated fatty acids. Not only do they lose their health benefits, but they can also form harmful trans-fatty acids. The following applies Do not reach/exceed the smoke point.
The difference between our frying oil and our pure sunflower oil
Sunflower seeds come in many different varieties, which differ not only in shape and colour, but also in the ingredients they contain. For our frying oil, we use High Oleic sunflower seeds, a specially bred variety with an impressively high oleic acid content. Of course, cultivated varieties should not be confused with genetically modified organisms. Our organic frying oil is, of course, GMO-free.
Solling Organic Sunflower Oil is rich in monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids as well as vitamin E (approx. 48mg per 100g). It is ideal for making mayonnaise, remoulade, dips or marinades.
