Our hazelnut flour is made from organically grown hazelnuts which are gently de-oiled and finely ground. It still contains around 17 g hazelnut oil per 100 g, as well as vegetable protein and fibre. Ideal for all baking recipes with hazelnuts or muesli. Vegan, lactose-free and gluten-free.
Precious flour from nuts
Nut flours are by-products in the production process of cold-pressed vegetable oils. At Ölmühle Solling, we produce nut flours from organic raw materials like walnuts, coconuts, hazelnuts and almonds. The de-oiled presscake still contains 10-12 % oil. Finely ground, it serves as an aromatic, nutty baking ingredient for gluten-free pastries.
Combined with other gluten-free flours from corn, sorghum, buckwheat, millet, rice, amaranth, quinoa etc. nut flours can create new flavours and offer endless baking possibilities. Furthermore, nut flours are an healthy alternative with their high content of valuable protein and even more fibre than whole grain flour. A precious ingredient for ring cakes, gingerbread, German Hutzelbrot, or muesli and yogurt. We recommend to substitute 10-20 % of the given flour in your recipe with nut flour. Nut flour should be stored well sealed and in a cool place.
Usage
Hazelnut flour is gluten-free and suitable for fine pastries, as supplement for muesli and desserts as well as for refining sauces and ice cream.
