Our Organic Cold Pressed Peanut Oil is an edible oil with a sweet, mild peanut flavour. Peanut oil has a pale, yellow colour. Frying with peanut oil gives off the typical smell of roasted peanuts. Peanut oil becomes cloudy at temperatures below 10°C and should not be stored in the refrigerator. The peanuts are not roasted before being pressed. Virgin organic peanut oil is therefore milder and less intense than roasted peanut oil. Peanut oil is ideal for use in hot dishes.
Origin
Originally native to the Andes of South America, peanut cultivation has spread throughout the tropics and subtropics since its growing importance as an oil crop. The peanut is a legume and grows on a bushy plant up to 60cm high. The flower stems, also known as fruit stems, grow downwards after self-pollination of the flower and bore into the ground. The pods containing the seeds ripen underground. The seeds are oval, about 5 mm thick and just under 1 cm long.
Peanut oil in the kitchen
The fatty acid composition of virgin groundnut oil allows it to be used in warm and even hot kitchens. This makes it an ideal frying oil for Asian dishes and wok cooking. The mild flavour of cold-pressed peanut oil goes well with vegetable and meat dishes. In addition to frying and steaming, peanut oil can also be used to make dips. Peanut oil contains approximately 22 mg of vitamin E per 100 ml.
Peanut oil for skin care
Virgin peanut oil, with its mild, non-bitter odour, is also very popular as a skin care oil. It can be used on its own as a rich moisturiser, or mixed into your daily moisturiser for face and body. Groundnut oil has a regulating effect on the skin's moisture balance and supports the skin's ability to retain moisture for long periods of time.
Usage
Peanut oil is particularly suitable for use in warm and hot cooking. In Asia, it is often used as a wok oil for steaming, cooking and frying. The typical nutty yet mild flavour of cold-pressed peanut oil goes well with Asian vegetable and meat dishes.

Origin:
Our peanuts have come a long way. They are organically grown in the People's Republic of China / Shandong Province. After harvesting, the fresh kernels are sun-dried, cleaned, shelled and hand-picked. They start their sea voyage to Europe in ventilated containers. Before they are processed, the batch is tested again for aflatoxin (mould toxin) levels. Only then do they find their way into the funnel of our spindle press. The peanut oil is cold-pressed from the unroasted nuts under very gentle conditions and then filtered.
