Versatile use of coconut flakes
Desiccated coconut has a wide range of uses in the kitchen. It can be used to refine any breakfast cereal, it is a great topping for cakes and tarts and of course it can be used in baking, for example to make coconut biscuits. They are also indispensable in Asian cuisine - they add a special flavour to curries, for example. They are fried in a pan to make them slightly crispy. Grated coconut can also be used to bread chicken nuggets, for example. Pancakes with grated coconut or homemade chocolates with grated coconut are delicious, and grated coconut sprinkled over baked bananas or fruit salad adds crunch. Grated coconut can also be added to raw foods. If you like, you can even make your own coconut milk from grated coconut.
For a low-carb diet
Due to its low carbohydrate content, grated coconut is also suitable for use in a low-carb diet. Ölmühle Sollings coconut flakes are characterised by their freshness and genuine coconut flavour. It goes without saying that our shredded coconut is organically grown. It is produced under fair working conditions.
Last but not least, coconut flakes are a natural source of potassium. The potassium content (approx. 912 mg/100g) is seven times higher than the sodium content. Potassium is an electrolyte that all cells need to function properly. Our shredded coconut should be stored in a cool, dry place. This preserves the freshness and flavour for longer.
