Our fine-grained, brown coconut blossom sugar comes from smallholder farmers on the indonesian island of Java. It is made from the nectar of the flower stems of the coconut palm (Cocos nucifera), which is harvested by hand daily and boiled down the same day. Gently heating the liquid nectar transforms it into a natural sugar with a pleasant caramel flavor.
Coconut blossom sugar is neither chemically treated nor industrially processed. This ensures that the natural colors and flavors are fully preserved. The result is an authentic product with a subtle sweetness and a complex flavor reminiscent of caramel and malt.
Sustainable origin
The coconut palms on Java are cultivated traditionally, without the use of synthetic fertilizers or pesticides. A single palm tree regularly provides flower nectar for many years without the need to be felled or replanted. This makes cultivation resource-efficient and sustainable in the long term. Usage
Coconut blossom sugar is perfect for sweetening muesli, yogurt, and quark. Its low melting point also makes it suitable for pastries. It dissolves well in liquids and goes perfectly with hot beverages such as coffee and tea, as well as smoothies, iced tea or lemonade. Coconut blossom sugar can also be used as a sprinkle sweetener, for example as a topping over fruit and desserts, and to enhance salad dressings. In recipes it can be used in a 1:1 ratio like regular sugar.
